As our communities and the Garfield Re-2 School District continue to grow, resources do get stretched. One of the resources that the community has realized is a shortage of telephone numbers with the 625 prefix. As a district, we have made the commitment to maintaining one prefix throughout the entire Garfield Re-2 School District and ensuring that each teacher has a direct dial telephone number.
With the addition of Elk Creek Elementary, Qwest is unable to provide enough telephone numbers with the 625 prefix to meet our needs, however, in working with Qwest, Garfield Re-2 has secured telephone numbers in the new 665 Rifle prefix. We have tried to maintain the last four digits of telephone numbers when at all possible, however, as staff move into different positions, that is not always possible.
We will be making this transition to the new 665 telephone numbers August 10. Enclosed is a refrigerator magnet to help you in making the transition from the 625 numbers to the new 665 numbers. Additionally, key telephone numbers are listed below:
